About

Kayak adventure on this pearl of nature takes 3 hours and starts in Kaštel Žegarski, a place that is only an hour's drive from Zadar or two and a half hours from Zagreb. The first part of the trip consists of a light paddle through the magical canyon of Zrmanja to one of its tributaries, the Krupa River. On its, if not the greatest, then certainly the most beautiful waterfall follows a short break, swimming in the crystal clear water and jumping off the rocks for those who are braver. The excursion is followed by excitement - a series of waterfalls that you will, with the help of our experienced guide, master in no time. The adventure ends after 17 kilometers, in the village of Muškovci where you can relive with a drink and sandwich from a nearby restaurant.

About river Zrmanja

Zrmanja is a river in northern Dalmatia. It is 69 km long, with a basin of 554 km². Sources below Postak mountain in the southern part of Lika flow through Dalmatia at the foot of Velebit and swarm into Novigrad sea 12 kilometers from Obrovac. Objects from Obrovac to the mouth of smaller ships. It comes from a karst spring at the foot of the Mission, 200 m high, near the village of Zrmanja Vrelo. In the upper stream it flows south, then turns to the west, the south foot of Velebit and gets its right, and the largest tower in Krupa. After that, Zrmanja creates several waterfalls: High Beech, Berber Beech, Devica Beech, Sokolov buk, Jankovec buk. Downstream of Obrovac is spreading, and at the mouth of the Novigrad Sea it is 300 meters wide. Novigrad Gorge, narrow seam connecting the Novigrad Sea with open sea.
